We’re thrilled to share that our newly refurbished Mobile Dental Unit (MDU) is back on the road, bringing vital NHS dental care directly to communities across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
As a Cornwall-based employee-owned dental CIC and certified B Corporation, Smile Together is proud to deliver accessible, impactful care in the heart of local communities. Our mobile unit — the first commissioned of its kind in the South West — has been made possible through the support of NHS Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Integrated Care Board (ICB).
Why this matters
Access to NHS dentistry remains a challenge for many. Our mobile unit helps bridge this gap by offering:
🦷 NHS dental examinations and treatment
🚨 Urgent care by appointment
🪥 Oral health advice and free packs including toothbrushes, toothpaste and emergency dental contact info
We’re currently reaching:
Fishing communities, in partnership with the Fishermen’s Mission, supporting those who often struggle to access regular care due to their demanding work schedules.
Veterans, through our work with Veterans Regroup, many of whom face complex oral health issues linked to their time in service.
Children on the NHS dental waiting list, with visits like our recent stop at Humphry Davy School in Penzance, where we’ve already treated over 30 children in need.
