We are commissioned by NHS England to provide urgent and emergency dental care to patients who would otherwise be unable to access treatment. Demand for this service is very high and the criteria are strict.
We therefore offer emergency appointments that are independent of our NHS service, for patients who require urgent or emergency care but have been unable to secure one of our NHS appointments via our Call Centre and do not wish to wait and try again the next day.
Unlike our NHS urgent and emergency care provision, our independent emergency appointments can be booked for any urgent dental need and patients can expect to be seen within 48 hours.
How do I book an emergency appointment?
Contact our Call Centre on 0333 405 0290 – if there are no NHS appointment slots available, you will be offered the option of booking an emergency appointment independent of the NHS. Choose this option to speak to one of our friendly receptionists who will discuss your dental needs and options. If you wish to go ahead, your appointment will be booked and a deposit of £60 taken (this is refundable if you cancel with at least 24 hours’ notice).
What can I expect at my emergency appointment?
In your consultation your dentist will discuss your concerns, make a diagnosis and carry out treatment of that diagnosis. Depending on your diagnosis, this may include:
- Fillings (white or silver as appropriate)
- Recementing crowns
- Commencement of Root Canal Treatment
If your consultation reveals other dental problems that cannot be treated within your 1-hour emergency appointment, you will be asked to book a routine follow-up appointment. Your dentist’s priority in your emergency appointment is to get you out of pain.
Please note an advance payment (50% deposit) will be taken when booking this appointment. If you need to cancel your appointment, this deposit is non-refundable.
