Construction and refit works completed this week at Keast Mews in Saltash where we are investing in a brand-new contemporary private dental practice. The Smile Together team and remaining contractors are now on site to make their finishing touches before opening to patients on 27th February.

Dentist Liz Winfield joined us in 2022 to clinically lead Keast Mews Dental Centre, moving from a private practice in London where she was an associate General Dental Practitioner. Prior to this she served for over ten years as a Dental Officer in the British Armed Forces, completing her military service holding the field rank of Major.

Liz brings a wealth of clinical experience to Saltash and explains: “I especially enjoy complex restorative dentistry, repairing or replacing damaged or missing teeth, and making a real difference to patients who so often think they’re beyond such care and transformation. My aim is to provide predictable, functional and beautiful dentistry whilst respecting what nature provided. Equally I love seeing patients who, for whatever reason and for many years, have avoided the dentist but become confident in visiting me for their regular dental care”.

Liz is joined by Location (Practice) Manager Hannah Rofe who moved last year from the University of Plymouth Peninsula Dental School where she was supporting students in treating patients on the open bays, prior to which she was a dual-site practice manager within a corporate dental company.

Both Liz and Hannah have supported the development of this new practice, together with project lead Vikki Johnson-Best, Head of Operations and Commercial. They and other colleagues from our current practice on Callington Road, including dental therapist Jo Elmes, are incredibly excited about providing an even wider range of routine and specialist dental treatments for local people in this brand new, patient-centric environment.

The contracting team for Keast Mews included TEC Construction, Mace Green building consultants, Setpoint Solutions air-conditioning experts 3idog ltd interior design, DecaDent Ltd, Prestige Signs and Hulley and Kirkwood. They’ve really brought the vision to life, as you can see here!

As an award-winning dental company operating as an employee-owned social enterprise and certified B Corporation across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, 100% of our profits are reinvested back into patient facilities, our people and the local community.

In Saltash our Brighter Smiles oral health team visit Brunel Primary Academy, St Stephens Community Primary School and Flying Start Nursery delivering toothbrushing clubs, fluoride varnish and oral health education for the children. Our team have also made up and donated over 500 oral health packs to local families across South East Cornwall, partnering with local charities, and the school nurse and social prescriber team to support those most in need.
