Safe and gentle removal of teeth that are damaged, decayed, or causing overcrowding.
Overview
Removing Teeth in Cornwall
Your clinician will explain this in detail with you so you can be sure that the chosen treatment is the best one for you. Occasionally, if the dentist feels that it may be a difficult extraction, they can refer you to a service that specialises in these types of extractions. This service is referred to as oral surgery.
During a simple extraction, your dentist will use local anaesthetic to numb the area before removing the tooth. The dentist or nurse will give you full after care instructions and ensure all bleeding has stopped before you leave. If you are concerned about your treatment in any way, please speak to your dentist who will be able to explain further and reassure you.
Please note, if you have an extraction you may have to wait a few hours before you eat or drink after the tooth has been removed. Therefore, it is recommended that you have something light to eat before your appointment.
Once the local anaesthetic wears off you can treat any discomfort with over-the-counter painkillers. Please visit our Patient Hub to read our post-extraction care sheet.

Notice
Please be aware that we will require a deposit when you book an appointment – this will be deducted from your bill for the relevant treatment at your next visit.
Booking an appointment
We understand that unexpected situations can arise, so your deposit will not be affected if you change your appointment with more than 24 hours’ notice. While we aim to be as flexible as possible, we reserve the right to retain your deposit for late cancellations or late arrivals that prevent us from seeing you. Short-notice cancellations make it difficult for us to offer care to other patients, increase waiting times, and raise the cost of running the surgery. We will, however, always consider personal circumstances.
