If you’re visiting the South West Dentistry Show at Ashton Gate Stadium in Bristol, do come and say hello. We’ll be on STAND No 10 and will be easy to find with our usual bright and colourful display together with our 7ft surfboard.
As you may have read in the June edition of Dentistry Magazine, our Managing Director Paul Critchley will be presenting on ‘Retirement Planning – the taxation and other benefits of the Smile Together model’ alongside our Clinical Director Mick Allen who has himself sold a practice into an EOT (Employee Owned Trust). This is a new way to exit dentistry which looks after your team and local community and is the most tax efficient exit available to you with 0% CGT. It’s something we are keen to encourage, as you can see here.
On our SW Dentistry Show stand we’ll be promoting the unique, rewarding and progressive career opportunities in our employee-owned dental CIC where our focus on training and CPD means we’re a great place to work and develop a dental career, utilising your full range of dental skills and experience in a safe, quality-assured and innovative environment where everyone’s voice counts and where we make every contact count. Hear from our Dental Director Jonathan about these progressive dentist opportunities at https://smiletogether.co.uk/careers-portal/working-and-developing-here/ and pop along for a chat with him on the day.
We’ll also be running a ‘steady hand’ competition at the show where you can win some special Cornish goodies – do come and have a go! It was super fun at the BDA Conference and Exhibition in Birmingham recently as you can see here!
We’re really proud to be employee-owned – a sector which is positively thriving in the UK because co-owned companies tend to be more successful, competitive, profitable and sustainable. Our people are engaged and committed because we go out of our way to consult, share information about the company and give you responsibility. Hence our desire to help others benefit from the employee-ownership model as this, combined with being a community interest company, means the difference we individually and collectively make is unrivalled.
Every day our teams make a real difference to local people and support a range of impactful outreach projects that we run in our local communities. From delivering our Brighter Smiles oral health programme in primary schools and nurseries and visiting harboursides in a Smiles At Sea mobile dental unit to treat fishermen who rarely visit a dentist due to the demands of their work, to supporting Cornwall Health for Homeless pop-ups and donating oral health packs to local charities best positioned to reach those families and individuals most in need across the county. As an aspiring B Corporation, we’re also better balancing our social and environmental impact.
The opportunities at Smile Together for rewarding dentistry careers alongside a unique work life balance are fantastic, and the benefits of exiting your dental practice through early retirement planning and handing over the reins to your team (achieved through selling your practice to an EOT) are extraordinary. Come along for a chat and to find out more about working for or partnering with Smile Together – an exciting journey awaits you!
