We proudly attended the prestigious BDA Conference and Exhibition at the NEC in Birmingham on Friday 13th and Saturday 14th May 2022, hot on the heels of the BDIA Dental Showcase at London ExCel in March.

Our vibrant stand H09 was hard to miss with its 7ft surfboard creatively designed by Fuel Communications and wrapped by No2TheSame and our colleagues sporting bright and colourful t-shirts encouraging show visitors to stop and chat.

Our brand-new banners and flyers promoting the uniquely progressive and rewarding career opportunities in the safe, supportive environment of our employee-owned dental CIC positively engaged all those who visited our stand. Visitors also enjoyed viewing the beautiful images shared with us by our colleagues of the lifestyle they enjoy with their friends and family, and their work on behalf of our patients, our communities and one another – a spectacularly authentic showcase of the extraordinary environment and work life balance that we enjoy here in Cornwall.

Much of this promotional material, including details about specific career opportunities at Smile Together, was uploaded to cleverly branded eco-USB sticks that visitors could take away in popular tote bags from Cornwall Screenprint & Embroidery along with branded sticky notes and pens from Westcolour.  All local suppliers with whom we’ve developed sustainable partnerships – a key element of us being an aspiring B Corporation – and thanks to them all for pulling out all the stops to meet our deadlines in advance of the show.

Lots of people bravely had a go at our Steady Hand competition to win wonderful Cornish goodies including a bottle of award-winning Camel Valley sparkling wine, Pentire Adrift botanical non-alcoholic spirit made by distilling unique plants native to our coastline in Cornwall, and scrumptious handmade artisan chocolates from Sweet P Confectionery in Bude.

On both days our stand was busy from the moment the show opened to the moment it closed. This included repeat visits from some who had seen us at the BDIA in London in March as well as others with whom we partner, such as DecaDent (a valued contractor and supporter of our Brighter Smiles oral health programme) and the chair of the Association of Dental Groups who is now planning his Cornwall tour!

If you didn’t attend the show but are interested in our dentistry opportunities, visit our Careers Portal to find out more, register for our monthly e-newsletter or simply contact us for an informal chat. You never know where that might take you!

Every day our dentists, dental therapists and dental nurses make a real difference to local people and support a range of impactful outreach projects that we run in our local communities, working alongside our enthusiastic professional support colleagues. We really do have an amazing professional and friendly team!

Our focus on training and CPD means Smile Together is a great place to work and develop your dental career, utilising your full range of dental skills and experience. Don’t just take our word for it – see what our colleagues say here – and a special thanks to dentist Emi for sharing her insight on camera here.

We’re proud to be employee-owned – a sector which is positively thriving in the UK because co-owned companies tend to be more successful, competitive, profitable and sustainable. Our people are innovative, engaged and committed because we go out of our way to consult, share information about the company, and give you responsibility. This, combined with being a community interest company, means the difference we individually and collectively make is unrivalled.

You couldn’t be in better company.
