Smile Together Dental CIC has recently expanded its inhouse HR team with the appointment of Carly Rundle.
Having graduated from University of Wales, Cardiff with a first-class Honours Degree in Business Management, Carly went on to achieve a Masters Degree in Human Resource Management with Distinction from Plymouth University and is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD). She brings 5 years of human resource experience to the team, primarily from The Headland Hotel & Spa in Newquay but also a University placement at the National Museum of Wales in Cardiff.
Carly says of her appointment: “I am delighted to have joined Smile Together which has such exciting plans for future growth and expansion In Cornwall. Not just physical developments like the brand new, purpose designed dental centre at Harleigh Road in Bodmin, but in terms of their voluntary initiatives designed to make a real difference to communities across the county such as Brighter Smiles, Cornwall’s oral health campaign, and Smiles at Sea which takes dental treatment to fishermen at the harboursides. As an HR professional this is such a dynamic environment to work in”.
Carly joins at a successful time for the company’s HR team. Head of HR Tina Allen recently obtained her CIPD Level 5 Diploma and is currently studying for her Institute of Leadership Management Level 5 whilst HR Coordinator Kirsty Lees achieved her CIPD Level 3 Certificate, both whilst working in their full-time roles alongside Sally Phillipps who leads on training and development.
Tina, who has worked within the organisation since July 2007, says: “We are delighted to welcome Carly to our team at such an exciting time for our business. As an employee-owned community interest company, Smile Together is committed to investing in the professional and personal development of both its clinical and professional support team members. We have a bespoke Training Academy that enables us to meet our compliance and other training requirements and as a business we like to celebrate everyone’s success. Whilst it was hard work studying alongside a busy HR workload, Kirsty and I are very proud of our achievements and the additional learning and knowledge we bring into the company’s HR function”.
