Samuel Greening

My job is to oversee the planning, launch and close of projects all within strict timeframes and budgets. The projects that I manage can vary across all departments in the company and I am often the link between external stakeholders and the Management team. Two examples of recent projects that I have overseen were building our brand-new contemporary dental practice in Saltash which opened to patients in February 2023 and launching a new software for internal use to make our systems more effective and efficient.

The most fun aspect of my role is working with different members of the team across the whole of Smile Together which gives me real insight into the different areas of the business and how these departments function. I love that no two days are the same as all projects are different and may require a different method to complete. I enjoy being able to manage multiple projects at once which really keeps my interest – and keeps me busy!

The biggest challenge in my role is being able to adapt to a different project in a quick timeframe. This involves scoping out what the project needs and working out how that individual department or team may operate. I thrive off the pressure of an upcoming deadline and unexpected problems that I must think quickly to solve!

Before joining Smile Together I was a Business Development Officer at Topan Fencing in Liskeard. I would quote and then manage the installation of fencing which ranged from garden fencing to commercial fencing. I was inspired to join Smile Together because of the community work and impact projects we do as a company. Smile Together are a leading example of how to help or reduce our impact on the environment which can be seen in our B Corp certification.

To someone considering working for Smile Together I would say go for it! It is a great work environment and there is always something exciting to get involved with. Additionally, helping others through the work we do is a feeling that cannot be matched.

Outside of work I enjoy rock climbing/bouldering, watching football and spending the day at the beach with my fiancée.
