Smile Together proudly supported the Oral Health Foundation’s month-long national campaign, National Smile Month, joining other oral care organisations across the country to highlight the importance of taking good care of your oral health.
Running from 13th May to 13th June 2024, the overarching theme was “Love your smile” which resonated deeply with Smile Together colleagues. Our mission is to tackle oral health inequality and we firmly believe that everyone deserves to feel confident in loving their smile.
We took to social media to share top dental tips (many of which you can find on our informative Patient Hub) and to raise awareness of #NationalSmileMonth. Our Bodmin practice created an amazing display in the patient waiting area with a wealth of information about oral health regimes. It was certainly eye catching and prompted lots of great discussions with families and individuals about brushing techniques and taking care of your oral health.
We were also once again part of the BDA Conference and Exhibition at the NEC in Birmingham, on Friday 17th and Saturday 18th May 2024 with a well-visited exhibition stand K72. Our team had so much fun celebrating National Smile Month with visitors to our stand. We had our Oral Health Foundation Smileys and everyone got in on the action with some awesome selfies.
On ‘International HR day’ we expressed our thanks to our hardworking and supportive ‘People Team’. The rebranding of our HR department to the ‘People Team’ signifies our commitment to prioritising the well-being and empowerment of our colleagues. This change reflects our belief that our employees are at the heart of everything we do. We shared their lovely smiley faces on our social media with the Oral Health Foundation smileys which generated lots of positive engagement.
Our oral health donations project continued throughout National Smile Month, with our teams in various locations across the county generously volunteering their time to make up oral health packs containing toothbrushes for the whole family, toothpaste, and oral health care literature. In just 2 and a half hours on a Monday afternoon Tracy, Grace and Pam made up 225 oral health packs for donating to local charities, foodbanks and community groups who work with vulnerable and hard-to-reach communities – what an amazing effort! That same week Pam donated 100 packs to Tintagel Coachhouse who took to social media to say “A great big Thank You to our friends at Smile Together who delivered 100 family dental packs to us this week. Please do ask us for a pack when you visit us” and Grace took another 100 to Truro and Falmouth/Penryn Foodbanks, with the remainder allocated for Bodmin Way Community Larder. It’s so inspiring connecting with these organisations whom we have supported in multiple ways over the years, including with financial donations, and we look forward to donating more packs and helping even more people to love their smile!
