We were delighted to be part of the BDA Conference and Exhibition at the NEC in Birmingham, on Friday 17th and Saturday 18th May 2024 with a well-visited exhibition stand K72. We were once again showcasing our unique business model and our genuinely rewarding, progressive and supported dental careers that enable our clinicians to:

  • Firmly root your career in a safe, supportive and secure environment whilst developing your portfolio and building a solid network
  • Grow with us through rewarding career development beyond the routine
  • Be well remunerated whilst enjoying an extraordinary environment and life-work balance
  • Build confidence in handling complex dentistry for patients who need us most, balancing outreach with breadth of service delivery
  • Develop clinical, governance and audit skills and branch into leadership, quality improvement or your chosen specialism

Our stand was super eye-catching and vibrant, showcasing our unique approach to dentistry as an employee-owned CIC and certified B Corporation. You couldn’t miss us with our 7ft surfboard, Cornish flag bunting, and huge backdrop proudly displaying our B Corp certification and our iconic beach shoot on Godrevy Beach in Cornwall. We’re all about delivering dentistry with purpose and making a positive impact, and our stand definitely reflected that. We hope it brought a smile to everyone who saw it!

Our team had so much fun celebrating National Smile Month with visitors to our stand. We had our Oral Health Foundation Smileys and everyone got in on the action with some awesome selfies. The theme of ‘love your smile’ really resonated with all of us, and it was amazing to see everyone getting behind it.

We ran popular fun activities including our Steady Hand Competition (game of Operation) and a Prize Draw to win award-winning Cornish treats including from fellow local B Corporations St Eval Candle Co and Made for Life Organics. Congratulations to all the winners!

Our sustainably-sourced goody bags were well-received, containing recyclable Smile Together USB’s, impact reports, pens and sticky notepads plus literature about career opportunities and postcards showcasing our clinicians’ own experiences of living and working here, many of whom can be seen on the Inside Track section of our website. Our little wildflower seed packets proved hugely popular as we encouraged visitors to ‘grow’ their career with us!

We were super busy throughout the two days and Kate Hockin, Business and Performance Lead at Smile Together, said: “I was extremely grateful to be invited along this year. When we arrived, we set up our stand, made up some goody bags, put up our Cornish bunting and placed our signature surfboard in a noticeable corner (which provoked some funny looks as I carried it in)! Friday and Saturday we had the opportunity to meet new people, promote our business and show what Smile Together is all about. I was able to introduce our clinical team to the new Dentally Vision and Dentally AI x-ray software (coming soon) which was super exciting as well as make amazing connections with a range of retail companies. I have come back with some great ideas and follow up meetings already in place. I also had the chance to attend some interesting talks about women in dentistry and the future of NHS dentistry (which actually came with its own Delorian from Back to the Future)! It was also nice to wind down with the team in a social environment after the show and get to know an absolutely amazing group of people that I may not have the opportunity to meet with outside of work.”

You can watch our fabulously fun Instagram reel here which shows what a great show our team had!

We appreciate everyone who took the time to engage with our colleagues and learn about the opportunities available at Smile Together. For those who couldn’t attend, we encourage you to explore our Careers Portal and you can also sign up for our monthly e-newsletter.
