In February we bid a fond farewell to Paul Critchley who moved on from Smile Together after 10 successful years as our Managing Director.
It was Paul who had that vision and confidence to lead our transition out of the NHS / Trust environment into our independent and agile employee-owned dental CIC, enabling us to make such a sustainable difference to our patients and communities. An innovative move back in 2016 but since then, alongside our patient care delivery, we’ve been able to reinvest more than £6m into patient facilities, our people, local communities and our environment.
That same leadership vision and dogged determination saw us become the first dental practice in the UK to achieve B Corporation certification in 2022 – independent verification of our social and environmental impact, balancing profit and purpose.
Paul said: “I have thoroughly enjoyed my role as Managing Director at Smile Together and am so proud of how much we have collectively achieved. I owe a big thanks to the team for their unwavering support during my watch and I will look back on these 10 years with great fondness. However, after a period of reflection, now is the right time for me to move on and allow the team to prepare for the next decade”.
Under Paul’s leadership we’ve achieved so much together and although we’ll miss him, he leaves an outstanding legacy for us to now take forward, with a values-based, mission-led business that’s in really good shape. And of course, we look forward to seeing what the next chapter holds for Paul too!
