Smile Together supporting Cornwall Hospice

Smile Together
Back to News

Each year, Smile Together employee-owners nominate and select a Charity of the Year to support. Through fundraising activities, sponsored challenges and events, we come together as a team to raise money for a cause that makes a real difference to our local communities.

This year, we’re proud to be supporting Cornwall Hospice, an independent Cornish charity providing compassionate, specialist end-of-life care for patients, their families and carers. Through its hospices at Mount Edgcumbe in St Austell and St Julia’s in Hayle, alongside community services and bereavement support, Cornwall Hospice helps people facing some of life’s most difficult moments. Its work relies on the generosity of individuals, businesses and community groups across Cornwall.

We’re delighted to have made a fantastic start to our fundraising efforts, with colleagues already finding creative ways to support this important cause.

Lucey, our Clinical Administration Support, organised a fantastic raffle with prizes generously donated by local businesses. Thanks to everyone’s support, Lucey raised £212!

A huge thank you to all the businesses that donated prizes:

We’re also incredibly proud of our Dental Director, Alex, who took on the Lisbon Marathon on 10 October to raise money for Cornwall Hospice.

Taking on a full marathon is no small feat, and Alex’s determination to support our Charity of the Year has been fantastic. Her efforts have raised an amazing £486 so far, thanks to the generosity of everyone who has donated and cheered her on.

After crossing the finish line, Alex shared a message of thanks:

“A huge thank you to everyone who has donated and supported me so far. The marathon went really well, but I can barely walk now! 😂 I’m so grateful for everyone’s generosity and support in helping raise money for Cornwall Hospice.”

We’re thrilled with the support we’ve received so far, but this is only the beginning. Over the coming months, our employee-owners will continue to find ways to raise money and awareness for Cornwall Hospice, bringing colleagues and our wider communities together to support its important work.
