We’re still operating Cornwall’s Urgent Dental Care Hubs (UDCH) for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly on behalf of NHS England, which has been the case since we opened the county’s first Hub in Bodmin on Easter Saturday. However, we are getting back to practice in most locations now and hope the following update will be helpful:
- Isles of Scilly – we continue to deliver services to island residents including some completion of routine care (booked prior to Covid) and maintaining the island-based UDCH for both residents and visitors
- Lescudjack, Penzance – as Brighter Dental we continue to operate as an UDCH with routine Brighter Dental patients also being booked and seen for completion of existing planned treatment and emergencies. This is expanding to more regular appointments as more of those patients are seen (both registered NHS and private patients). Our useful telephone triage service remains in place across the week and special care services are now operational one day per week for those patients on existing care pathways to be reviewed and then seen
- Camborne – our telephone triage service continues to be maintained one day per week with another day dedicated to special care services for those patients on existing care pathways to be reviewed and then seen
- Falmouth – we’re continuing to offer face-to-face services for our existing orthodontic patients to continue with their treatment and resolve any emergencies, and beginning to start new orthodontic courses of treatment
- Truro Health Park – continues to operate as an UDCH with our telephone triage service remaining in place and special care services also operational across the week
- Newquay – we’re continuing to offer face-to-face services for our existing orthodontic patients to continue with their treatment and resolve any emergencies. On a Monday our Brighter Dental dentist is there reviewing and planning dental treatments for existing patients (NHS and private) and our Dental Hygiene Therapist returned in September to provide hygiene and therapy services for our privately registered patients
- Harleigh Road Dental Centre, Bodmin – continues to operate as an UDCH with our telephone triage service remaining in place and special care services also operational across the week. Brighter Dental patients are also being booked and seen for completion of existing planned treatment and emergencies, and routine patients have begun returning (both NHS and private)
- Saltash – Brighter Dental services have resumed for patients currently in treatment and as they are completed, further routine services will start to return. Our Dental Hygiene Therapist returned in September to provide hygiene and therapy services for our privately registered patients
- Patient Plans – these had paused due to the pandemic but have now been reinstated with patients on these plans being seen alongside our private Brighter Dental patients in Newquay, Bodmin and Saltash. If you would like to register for a Patient Plan there is more information here
Thank you for your patience during this unprecedented time and we are so pleased to see many of our services now resuming for patients across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. We will keep updating our websites as more of our dental services become available for more patients over the coming weeks and months.
