Phil Dawson

As Clinical Non-Executive Director at Smile Together, I am dedicated to ensuring that our clinical practices meet the highest standards, ultimately supporting our team in delivering the best possible care to our patients. I’ve always been passionate about providing exceptional care and fostering a clinical environment where excellence is the norm. This role allows me to continue that mission while collaborating with an incredibly talented group of clinicians and support staff who share the same dedication to patient care.

I have a deep passion for education, both for myself and for others, which has been a consistent theme throughout my career. Whether it’s working with undergraduate dental students, mentoring Foundation Dentists, or collaborating with senior leaders in the dental field, I always seek opportunities to learn and share knowledge. My journey in dentistry has led me to work across a variety of prestigious organisations, including Health Education England/NW Deanery, Manchester Dental Hospital, and the Faculty of General Dental Practice/College of General Dentistry. These experiences have allowed me to build an extensive network of colleagues from all walks of dentistry, including fellow clinicians, educators, and leaders in the field.

Currently, I work as an associate at my{dentist}, where I split my time between private practice and maintaining an NHS contract. This balance allows me to provide a broad range of treatments, with a focus on restorative and endodontic care, and continually push myself to deliver the best possible clinical outcomes. Referrals from colleagues also give me the chance to collaborate on complex cases and contribute to a wider network of care.

What drew me to Smile Together is the unique, dynamic environment the organisation offers. It’s rare to find a dental company where you can experience such a wide variety of dentistry, and where each day brings new challenges and opportunities for growth. There’s a true sense of collaboration here, and the chance to work alongside such a dedicated and experienced team is one of the most rewarding parts of my role. We all share a passion for providing outstanding care to our patients and making a positive impact on our communities.
