Dentist and SIB Rep
After graduating in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Plymouth, I went on to achieve my Bachelor of Dental Surgery from The University of Central Lancashire in July 2019. After a spell in general practice in Lancashire and being chosen as their Foundation Dentist of the year, I returned to Cornwall to join Smile Together Dental CIC and progress my dental career here – and I haven’t looked back!
Working one day a week in general practice, I devote the rest of my week to providing urgent and emergency dental care for local people (including children) who don’t have their own dentist and therefore don’t benefit from regular oral health care, advice and guidance. I do my level best to help, educate and ensure patients don’t have to experience the heartbreak of leaving with a gap in their smile.
I’m really passionate about improving longer term oral health outcomes for all, particularly younger generations, and I enjoy using social media platforms to influence, educate and challenge potentially damaging dental trends. I also use these platforms to encourage others to make eco-friendly switches.
Being an elected representative on the Shareholder Impact Board is so exciting. As an enthusiastic member of the Smile Together team, I’m always seeking to be more involved in the wider business and gain more insight into employee ownership. I love engaging with colleagues and being able to contribute to the company as a whole, whether that’s encouraging others to come and work here (read more here) or shining a light on the great work we collectively do for patients, our communities, one another and increasingly our planet.
