Thanks to everyone who came along to our AGM & Showcase event on Thursday 7th December at The Atlantic Hotel in Newquay and participated so positively – and what a day it was demonstrating just what an incredible year we’ve had working together and in partnership with other amazing organisations and individuals across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.  Admirably MC’d and introduced by John Birchill and Nick Wenger representing our Board of Directors, we enjoyed a number of entertaining presentations:

  • Our Managing Director Paul Critchley and interim Clinical Lead for West Country Dental Care Nicola Barr reminded us about the journey we’ve been on together, the importance of the service we provide and our exciting plans for the future as an employee-owned community interest company

  • Robert Camp from Stephens Scown gave an invaluable and inspirational insight to their development and success as an employee-owned law firm, and many of us came away with practical ideas for our own company

  • Steph Preston-Evans outlined the work of Cornwall Air Ambulance, our charity of the year for 2018 which is entirely dependent on fundraising – and thank you to everyone for their generosity with the raffle which raised over £400 on the day!

The various exhibition stands at the event were well attended and thanks to our suppliers, partners, Staff Council and other colleagues for putting on such engaging displays that really added value to the day.

We also used the event to launch our Social Impact Report – 2017 which was very well received by all those attending.

Feedback from the event has been very positive indeed, from both Smile Together colleagues and our external partners:

“It was a great day – really good to take stock of everything that has been achieved in the last year as well as looking to 2018”.

“Thank you for such a great event, it was very informative – I enjoyed all the speakers and the food and venue was excellent”.

“What an amazing day, thank you so much. The presentations were brilliant and inspirational, and have left me excited for the future”.
